Background |
Immunoglobulin G is the most abundant antibody isotype found in the circulation. IgG molecules are synthesized and secreted by plasma B cells. IgG antibodies are generated following class switching and maturation of the antibody response and thus participate predominantly in the secondary immune response. IgG is secreted as a monomer that is small in size allowing it to easily perfuse tissues. IgG antibodies are large molecules of about 150 kDa composed of four peptide chains. It contains two identical class γ heavy chains of about 50 kDa and two identical light chains of about 25 kDa, thus a tetrameric quaternary structure. Armenian Hamster I gG whole molecule is ideal for investigators involved in serum protein component research. Synonyms: A. Hamster IgG, Control Protein, Isotype Protein, Isotype Peptide |
Research Area | Immunology, Secondary Antibodies |
Application Notes | ARMENIAN HAMSTER IgG whole molecule can be utilized as a control or standard reagent in Western Blotting and ELISA experiments. Specific conditions should be optimized by user. |

Precaution of Use | WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing. |
